In April 2016 our expert Employment Law and HR Services Team launched the first series of employer workshops covering a range of challenging employment law and HR topics that we know are important to our clients.
The workshop focused on 'Sickness Absence Management' and how to best manage different types of sickness absence from persistent and intermittent to long term absences focusing on return to work interviews, capability procedures, obtaining consent to access medical records, getting the most out of occupational health advice and best practice when delaying with thorny issues such as stress and depression or drugs and alcohol dependence.
The workshop also covered reasonable adjustments that you may need to make and assessing your risk of employment tribunal claims in relation to unfair dismissal and disability discrimination.
