Shropshire Cricket League Nets New Sponsor- 22/05/2008
Black Country law firm FBC Manby Bowdler LLP is to sponsor The Shropshire Cricket League for two years.
FBC Manby Bowdler will appear on all literature and results listings throughout 2008 and 2009, when the firm will have first option to extend the sponsorship.
The naming rights also cover the League 20:20 competition, all youth cups and the representative team entered in the League Cricket Conference knockout, in which the FBC Manby Bowdler Shropshire Cricket League meet an XI from neighbours the Marston’s League on 27 July.
FBC Manby Bowdler senior partner Gavin Southall said: “We’ve had two seasons of backing the county side, which was great. We thought this league sponsorship was the obvious next step, where our support will reach more than 100 teams and over a thousand people across the county at grass roots level.”
The League includes 90 adult teams in seven divisions and around 30 youth sides.
League chairman Bill Hopkins said: “We will use the sponsorship wisely to benefit the entire league; to train umpires and coaches; and to hire professional groundsmen for clubs facing problems with their pitches.
“We are hugely grateful to FBC Manby Bowdler for coming on board.”
