Business Community Gathers to Mark FBC Manby Bowdler's Theatre Severn Gallery Sponsorship- 24/09/2009
More than 50 of Shrewsbury’s leading business lights gathered at the town’s new Theatre Severn to celebrate the sponsorship of the theatre’s third floor gallery area by local law firm, FBC Manby Bowdler.
The guests at the evening reception were serenaded by John Bowen, a semi-professional baroque opera singer and solicitor in FBC Manby Bowdler’s Family Department. Before qualifying as a lawyer, Mr Bowen was a full time professional musician, having trained at the Royal College of Music. He is still a regular soloist at music festivals in the UK and abroad, as well as being a recording artist.
FBC Manby Bowdler’s 10 year sponsorship of the gallery will support the theatre’s use of the space for a series of exhibitions, the first of which features a special collection marking Rambert Dance Company’s first performance in Shrewsbury for 50 years. Rambert’s performance, which includes a specially commissioned piece ‘Comedy of Change’ can be seen at Theatre Severn from the 13th to 16th October.
“As a key part of Shrewsbury’s professional and business community, FBC Manby Bowdler was keen to play its part in supporting this vibrant new venue for the arts in the town,” said FBC Manby Bowdler senior partner, Gavin Southall.
