Shropshire law firm FBC Manby Bowdler LLP held a carol service in the chapel of Shrewsbury School for more than 130 fellow professionals, staff and their families.

Following the traditional seven lessons and carols format, the service was led by Rev Harry Edwards, Chaplain of the Severn Hospice, and featured FBC Manby Bowdler Senior Partner Niall Blackie playing the organ and Family Lawyer at FBC Manby Bowdler’s Shrewsbury office, and renowned semi-professional baroque opera singer, John Bowen leading a specially formed choir to sing some carols.

A collection was taken in aid of the Severn Hospice and mince pies and mulled wine were served after the service, and a total of £462.10 was raised.

Niall Blackie said: “I was delighted to see so many of our local professional contacts, members of our staff and their families joining together and singing heartily to celebrate the meaning of Christmas . Through the Service we were able to raise money for Severn Hospice, whose work is invaluable, particularly at this time of year."
