FBC Manby Bowdler to support women's refuge- 08/09/2011
West Midlands law firm FBC Manby Bowdler LLP has chosen The Haven Wolverhampton as one of its corporate charities for the next 12 months, with the aim of raising at least £1,500.
One of the largest independent charities in the United Kingdom and also one of the largest refuges in the country, The Haven provides safe, temporary, emergency accommodation and support services to women and dependent children affected by domestic violence and homelessness.
Fundraising has already started at FBC Manby Bowdler, which has offices in Wolverhampton, Willenhall, Telford, Bridgnorth and Shrewsbury, with five solicitors and support staff being sponsored to run the Carver Wolverhampton City Marathon.
David Raymont, Alison Smith and Guy Birkett, ran as a relay team in the half marathon event and they were joined in the race in West Park Wolverhampton by James Sage and Stuart Downes.
Kim Carr, FBC Manby Bowdler Managing Partner, said: “Our staff chose The Haven as one of the local charities which we will support this year. The Haven already has a good programme of events in which we are looking forward to participating, as well as organising our own fundraising.”
With 33 partners, FBC Manby Bowdler is one of the largest law firms in the West Midlands. The firm has offices in Wolverhampton, Willenhall, Telford, Shrewsbury and Bridgnorth.
