FBC Manby Bowdler helps sisters grow successful bridal business- 06/10/2011

West Midlands law firm FBC Manby Bowdler LLP has helped two sisters establish and expand a new wedding business in Birmingham.

Rebecca Taylor, a solicitor in FBC Manby Bowdler’s commercial property department, advised Joanne Jones and Ruth Rawson on the property lease for their first shop for their new business Isaac Charles Bridal House.

The sisters took a 12 year lease at an existing bridal shop at 878 Aldridge Road, Great Barr, Birmingham, with the aim of offering brides an alternative to the traditional bridal shop experience. The business has already employed two staff and is about to launch its own designer range of gowns. It is also looking to expand into a further two shops in the next two years.

This is the sisters’ first venture into the bridal market, but Ruth has previously run a successful wedding stationery business, while Joanne is an experienced purchasing executive.

The business is a real family affair. It is named after Ruth’s youngest child, while other family members help to model dresses and accessories.

“We are already ahead of our business plan, with the imminent launch of our own range of gowns and advanced plans for new shops,” said Miss Jones.

“Our family have used FBC Manby Bowdler for legal advice for a number of years, so we were grateful to have Rebecca’s help on negotiating and completing the lease to help us get up and running.”

“Ensuring that you have got the right terms for any commercial property lease in the current market is essential for any business, and I was pleased to be able to assist Jo and Ruth and see them prosper,” said Miss Taylor.

In addition to bridal wear, Issac Charles also stocks Mother of the Bride/Groom outfits, Special Occasion Wear and Evening Wear. A full range can be found on its website at www.isaaccharlesbridal.co.uk
