Twitter Messages Are Not Private- 01/04/2011
The Press Complaints Commission (PCC) has ruled that material published on Twitter should be considered public and therefore the person tweeting has no right to privacy in respect of the tweet.
Obviously each case will be determined on its on facts but this decision should help employers to argue that employees do not have a complete right of privacy in respect of posting materials on the internet.
