Newly merged Black Country law firm FBC Manby Bowdler LLP has strengthened its team with an old face as a new recruit.
Karen Grimshaw joins as a residential conveyancing associate. She will be based in the firm’s Wolverhampton office.
Karen will be a familiar face to some at FBC Manby Bowdler as she spent her initial post-training years there. Karen was partner and head of property at Wolverhampton-based Thornes Solicitors, where she had worked for just over seven years, before moving to FBC Manby Bowdler.
She said: “My new role is made sweeter by the fact that I started my career here, spending my first three post-qualification years with Manbys. Even though the firm has merged and undergone continual expansion since then, it has been like a homecoming for me.”
Karen specialises in residential conveyancing, including sales, purchases, remortgages, transfers of equity, shared ownership purchases, new plot sales, equity releases, local authority rights to buy and matrimonial property transfers.
Karen was born in Kenya but grew up near Lichfield. She gained her law degree at Anglia Polytechnic University in Chelmsford and became a solicitor in 1990. She then moved back to the West Midlands to complete her legal training in Birmingham.
She has three children, is married to a Wolverhampton Wanderers FC fanatic and enjoys spending her free time walking and cycling on Cannock Chase.
