Meeting the Manufacturing Alliance
This week I was fortunate enough to spend the day with the Manufacturing Alliance at their Midlands Taster event.
Held at Frank Dudley Ltd in Birmingham and hosted by the founder of the Alliance, Gary Sheader and Midlands Chair Tony Prouse, the event was an opportunity to share insights and generate ideas on how each others businesses might solve the problems they face.
Present at the event were decision makers from manufacturers Frank Dudley, Ideal Standard, Turfmech, Berck Precision Components and Rudd Macnamara, along with the Chief Executive of Made In Britain and leaders from Visual Management Tools.
The Manufacturers Alliance groups are peer groups for ambitious UK Manufacturing Leaders that meet to share ideas and support each other in working through the challenges that arise from growing a high performing business. There are currently groups in Lancashire and South Manchester, with new groups launching in the West Midlands, Liverpool, North Wales and West Yorkshire during 2016.
Discussions on the day covered areas such as implementing visual management, establishing and sustaining a 5S programme, marketing across a range of channels and business development.
