The 'Made In The Midlands' breakfast events continue to happen thick and fast this year, both March and April have three in each, with visits planned to Torus Technology, Hexagon Metrology, Boneham & Turner, Carr Tool Steels, I M Kelly Automotive and Ceracon. The visit this week was to A W Precision, and what a visit!!
I'll skip over the delicious breakfast rolls, donuts and muffins and focus on the business, the breadth and depth of which is impressive to say the least.
For those that don't know, A W Precision is a leading manufacturer of punch and die products and components throughout Europe and the USA. It's grown rapidly due to it continually investing in the latest technology such as high precision CNC turning, grinding and EDM capability along with vacuum heat treatment processing. It also had a decent partnership programme, a list of which can be found on their website.
As usual with these events everyone (all 60 of us) got the chance to go on a factory tour, including their competitors. There's confidence for you. Back to the tour... how much factory space, how much machinery, how clean, what lovely staff and how organised!! Everyone I spoke to left impressed with what they'd seen and heard from our hosts.
You can physically find A W Precision in Rugby, on the web here http://www.awprecision.co.uk
or on Twitter @AWPrecision
Well worth a visit if punch and die products is what you need.
