Alison studied in Liverpool and Berlin, obtaining a degree in English and German Law from the University of Liverpool in 2001 before completing the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in Birmingham in 2003, achieving Distinction. Alison has over 10 years commercial property experience gained predominantly at a large regional law firm in Birmingham where she acted for a number of national high street retailers and international logistics providers, taking a pragmatic and commercial approach to their lease negotiations.
Alison joined FBC Manby Bowdler as a Solicitor in the Commercial Property Department in 2014 and was appointed an Associate in 2019. Acting for investment companies, SMEs, family businesses and trusts, Alison has broad experience of freehold and leasehold acquisitions as well as dealing with the property aspects of corporate share and asset sales and purchases. Notable transactions include assisting with the largest application for Homes and Communities Agency funding outside London to kick start a mixed use development, disposal and leaseback of a large industrial site for a European manufacturer and providing property support in the multi-million pound acquisition of a pharmacy business.
Alison sits on the board, and is former chairman of the City of Birmingham Choir, recognised nationally as a leading, independent amateur Choir, and sings with them regularly across the Midlands and further afield.
