Tom obtained a BA (Hons) English Degree from the University of the West of England in Bristol in 1999 before attending the College of Law, Chester in 2001. Tom began his training contract with Gwynnes Solicitors (later MFG solicitors) and qualified as a Solicitor in 2004. Tom joined FBC Manby Bowdler as a Partner in the Agricultural & Rural Services Department in 2012. In April 2020, Tom became a member of the Firm's Executive Board, working alongside Managing Director, Neil Lloyd, and Partner Guy Birkett.
Tom specialises in all issues relating to agricultural property and businesses including land sales and acquisitions, partnership matters, farming contracts, renewables, minerals, telecoms and agricultural tenancies. Tom also provides advice relating to subsidy and regulation under the Common Agricultural Policy and the law relating to country field sports.
Tom is a member of the Shropshire committee of the Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust, a member of the Agricultural Law Association, having qualified as a Fellow in 2012, and a member of the British Association of Shooting and Conservation.
Outside work Tom is a rugby enthusiast and although he has now retired from playing he is now involved coaching his sons junior side.
