Last week the Manufacturing team at FBC Manby Bowdler were out in force at the ‘Made In The Midlands’ exhibition.
In good company with 150 other exhibitors and over 1000 delegates our 14 strong team spent the day talking to business owners about a wide range of topics including Employment & HR, Mergers & Acquisitions, Purchasing Commercial Property and Credit Control.
If there was any doubt in your mind, then the range of businesses exhibiting would have reinforced the fact that Midlands Manufacturers have a lot to offer customers both in the UK and overseas. The networking on offer was also invaluable and it was fantastic to touch base with so many people that regardless of who they worked for were all focused on making Midlands manufacturing a success.
It was our first exhibition as Patrons of ‘Made In The Midlands’ and it didn’t disappoint in terms of results. Plenty of visitors were interested in our legal documentation ‘Health Checks’ (still available if you’re interested – just email me at firstname.lastname@example.org) as well as the discounted legal fees on offer to those visiting on the day. Needless to say the weekend was spent scanning almost 150 business cards to ensure the follow ups are completed this week.
Perhaps out of the ordinary for law firms we’d made a few decisions that were aimed at encouraging visitors to stop and chat, and I’d just like to say thanks to those that helped. Firstly, exhibition training provided by networker extraordinaire Michele from ‘I’m Your PA’ – really helped prime the team, Craig the magician from Slightly Unusual did an amazing job at blowing peoples minds with his close up magic and the Orro Gold bike, on loan from Fred’s in Wolverhampton, also helped stopped visitors in their tracks. Many thanks to all of them for playing their part.
Next stop for us is more networking with ‘Made In The Midlands’ at Boneham & Turner in Nottingham. Promises to be an interesting morning!
