FBC Manby Bowdler have helped a West Midlands firm to move in to additional premises as their renewable heating business continues to grow.
Cradley Heath-based Intervate, a leading manufacturer of wood pellets for use in renewable heating systems, has expanded in to additional premises to support the continued growth of the business.
Legal advice was provided by Wolverhampton-based solicitor Andrew Wynne of FBC Manby Bowdler.
Established in 2008, and originally based in Coventry, Intervate has enjoyed sustained growth over the last eight years with turnover now at £3.5m.
Soon after the business was launched, it became apparent that larger premises with modern warehousing facilities, good grid connections and accessible transport links would be vital in realising the potential growth of the business. And so, three years ago the business made the move in to its existing 18,000 sq ft premises in Cradley Heath.
This move was also supported by the FBC Manby Bowdler team.
However, with a rapidly expanding business, further warehousing was soon needed and the search for a facility to store finished goods therefore began. A number of sites were considered, but when Intervate’s existing landlord decided to develop on land adjacent to their existing base, it presented itself as an ideal solution.
Julian Ackerley, Director at Intervate, comments: “Even after our move to Cradley Heath we knew we’d need additional space in order to sustain the growth that we’d enjoyed since day one. When our landlord decided to develop the site next to our existing facility we realised that this could be prove an ideal solution as it would not only provide us with the chance to develop a high standard of warehousing, but its proximity to our existing site simplified things logistically.
“Having worked with Andrew and the team at FBC Manby Bowdler for over six years, it was reassuring to have their support throughout this process. They offer a high level of thoroughness but ensure explanations are presented in easily digestible language which has been important since it has allowed us to focus on the job in hand.”
Andrew Wynne adds: “The team at Intervate deserve every success. They are professional and embrace the opportunity to work with us collaboratively to achieve the desired outcome.
“Finding the right premises for their continued growth was not an overnight process but they remained focused, knew exactly what they wanted and as the results have demonstrated, Intervate has secured 8,000 sq ft of additional warehousing site that will support the business moving forward.”
With Intervate’s new premises now fully functional with the inclusion of a 15kg bag packing and palletising line, Julian is hopeful that the continued growth in revenues will allow the business to open a further site, possibly around the Welsh Marches, within the next two years.
