Accidents can happen anywhere & at anytime; we all assume that we can go out and about in public without the risk of being hurt or injured. The reality is that we never really know what is around the corner.
Businesses are supposed to ensure your safety when on their premises, whether you are shopping in supermarket or in a session of paintballing.
They need to ensure all health and safety measures are accounted for to protect you from injury. Many injuries occur from Slips, Trips and Falls due to hazards such as wet floors or obstructions, but they can also occur due to negligence such as inadequate clothing and training.
It is not only businesses that have to ensure you are safe. Public bodies also have a duty to ensure you are safe when you are out and about. When you are walking to the local shop, getting to your car in a public car park or even cycling in your local park, local authorities have a duty to make sure public highways and public property are well maintained.

Yes, we will require evidence of your accident. We would advise that if you want to make a claim you keep a note of all doctors’ appointments / prescribed medications you had to take for your injury as well as providing any photographic evidence of the injury you have suffered. We will also require photographic evidence of the obstruction/hazard which caused your accident.
In most cases the law requires that any claim is brought within 3 years of the injury date. There are, however, a few exceptions to this in certain circumstances. It is always best to contact a Solicitor as soon as possible to ensure that you have enough time to undertake the necessary investigations before bringing your claim. To find out if you can make a claim on an accident suffered more than 3 years ago please use the below to make an enquiry form.
You may be able to bring a claim on behalf of someone else if they are either under the age of 18 or do not have sufficient mental capacity to bring a claim themselves.
