For those who have been employed for less than 2 years, the legal requirement is 1 weeks’ notice. For those who have been employed for 2 years or more, the legal requirement is 1 weeks’ notice for each year of employment (this is capped at 12 weeks).
If you have been working for your Employer for 2 years or more you will be entitled to statutory redundancy pay. Statutory redundancy pay is calculated using your age and length of service.
Should your employer offer you suitable alternative employment which you turn down you will forfeit your rights to statutory redundancy pay.
